Evaluate, Compress and Stream Any MIPI RAW Sensor over Standard Ethernet
The new FPGA-based evaluation board captures RAW Bayer data directly from MIPI CSI-2 sensors, compresses it using JPEG XS RAW technology, and streams it over Gigabit Ethernet with less than 1 ms latency.
Modern MIPI CSI-2 image sensors provide exceptional image quality and bandwidth, making them the preferred choice for automotive, machine vision and industrial imaging systems.
However, traditional MIPI connections are typically limited to short distances and often require dedicated hardware integration, making sensor evaluation and distributed processing more complex.
The new intoPIX MIPI-to-Ethernet FPGA Bridge addresses these challenges by capturing RAW Bayer data directly from the sensor, compressing it in real time using JPEG XS RAW technology, and transporting it over standard Gigabit Ethernet networks.
This enables engineers to evaluate, prototype and deploy MIPI sensors with greater flexibility while preserving image quality and ultra-low latency.

From Sensor to Compute in One Streamlined Pipeline
The FPGA receives RAW Bayer data directly from a MIPI CSI-2 image sensor.
JPEG XS RAW compression is then applied inside the FPGA, reducing bandwidth requirements while preserving sensor fidelity.
The compressed stream is transported over standard Gigabit Ethernet and can be decoded on a workstation, embedded platform, ECU or edge AI system using intoPIX software components.
